About Me

Hello!

My name is Lynette Corder and I am proud to be a Williston School District 29 teacher!  This is my 6th year as a teacher in Williston.  I have over 17 years of teaching experience.  I received my B.A. degree in Secondary English Education from USCAiken in 2002.  I earned my M.Ed. degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College in 2006.

This year, I entered into the new world of virtual teaching!  I am a 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade virtual ELA teacher and I absolutely love my job!  Each day I learn something new to help my scholars as we navigate the virtual learning platform together.  Often, my scholars teach me new technology tips and tricks to make my job easier.  They impress me daily with their knowledge of technology and I appreciate their willingness to share that knowledge with me.

I am a passionate reader and writer.  Nothing makes me happier than to share my passions with my scholars.  My goal is to help all of them love reading and to become lifelong readers.

I have been married to David Corder for 29 years.  We have 3 sons who are grown and have their own careers.  In my spare time not only do I enjoy reading, but also cooking, home renovation projects, gardening, and crafts.  My husband and I enjoy taking road trips and especially love our beautiful South Carolina beaches.  We have 3 dogs and 2 cats that keep us entertained.

I feel that in order for scholars to reach their full potential, a partnership is necessary between myself, my scholars, and their parents/guardians.  I am available to you for any questions or concerns.  I enjoy discussing your child's academic progress with you.  I encourage you to contact me anytime to talk about your child.  I want all of my scholars to be successful.  A good working relationship with all parties involved can help your child soar!

I know this has been a sometimes frustrating journey as we navigate the world of virtual learning.  Together we will overcome the frustrations and challenges this year has brought us.  Please know that I am here to offer support and encouragement for you and your child.

Thank you for allowing me to be your child's teacher this year!
